摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method, an apparatus and programs for authenticity determination, which can simply and highly accurately perform authenticity determination for solids. <P>SOLUTION: Entanglement of fiber materials that form a paper has randomness that cannot be controlled in production. Consequently, in transparency of papers, random changes peculiar to each paper occur. Using them, a standard area (e.g., a non-printed part in size of about 2×2 mm ) on a paper is optically read, and then registered as standard data. When determining authenticity, a reference area including the standard area, the size of which (e.g., about 4×4 mm) is larger than the standard area, is read by a scanner, and then data of a part area (enclosed with a square as an operation area in the figure), the size of which is same as that of the standard area, is extracted from the read reference data. Operations of correlation values with standard data using a normalized correlation method are repeated with moving the position of a part area within the reference area, and then the maximum value of correlation values and the normalized score of the maximum value are compared with a threshold respectively to determine authenticity. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p>
