PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reader apparatus for properly conducting correction of the quality of the image data in a short time. SOLUTION: The apparatus is provided with a plurality of document holders each having a defined document region to expose a document to the document region; marks each positioned and provided for the document region outside the document region of each document holder; a supporting means for replaceably supporting a selection holder being a document holder selected by a user; a scanning means for scanning regions surrounding the mark and the document region in the selected holder, and generating image data indicating the scanned region thereof; a specifying means for specifying a pixel region corresponding to a region including the document region of the selected holder, the pixel region being a pixel region having a size smaller than a pixel region corresponding to the scanning region, in the image data generated for the selected holder; and a correction processing means for applying correction processing of image quality to a processing region having the same position and size as those of the pixel region specified by the specifying means in the image data generated for the selected holder.
