PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a trash removal device which easily removes even large pieces of trash, and is easily installed in a river of a wide width. SOLUTION: The trash removal device functions to rake up trash including drift wood, water-weeds, etc., flowing along the river or the like, and to discharge the trash to a predetermined location. The trash removal device is comprised of a rake and endless chains. The rake is formed by arranging a plurality of slender blade members each formed of a high-tension steel between screen bars of a screen and rigidly connecting the same by means of support members. The endless chains allow the connecting members to be fixed thereto, so that the blade members are moved upward along a surface of the screen with its external portion assuming a horizontally protruding position, to thereby achieve raking of the trash. Further if the trash is in the form of a large mass, in order to break down the mass, each blade member is formed so as to have a sharp tip. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
