PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lightweight vessel which is suitable for tableware, retains excellent properties of ceramics and shows an improved impact resistance, scratch resistance, anti-scattering property at breakage, etc., and a manufacturing method of the excellent vessel. SOLUTION: The hybrid vessel is formed from a porous ceramic vessel which comprises a ceramic layer impregnated with a resin. Preferably, the exterior surface of the vessel is further coated with the resin. The manufacturing method of the hybrid vessel preferably comprises a step wherein the porous ceramic vessel is impregnated with an impregnant containing a thermosetting resin monomer or its precursor from its exterior surface and the impregnant is subsequently cured through a curing means.
