PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a distributed control system enhanced in the reusability of a control software module in a distributed control system in which distributed controls are performed in a plurality of control devices connected through a network and a system for supporting the design of software for the distributed control system. SOLUTION: This distributed control system comprises control software modules 11 using a data area externally designated or externally readable/writable in the module as an input terminal 14 and an output terminal 15, and a software wire 12 for transmitting data of the output terminals of the modules 11 and control object equipment to the input terminals. The distributed control system comprises control object equipment input and output information having input and output methods of the control device 1 having the control object equipment and the control object equipment 3, software module layout information having the information of the control device in which the module 11 is arranged, and software wire information having the layout information of the output of the instance 11 of the control object equipment or module and the input of the instance of the control object equipment or module which uses it.
