PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cable car system whereby altitude difference between a valley station and a mountain station is increased without reducing conveying capacity of the system. SOLUTION: The cable car system has two pairs of supporting cables fixed to the inside of the valley station and the inside of the mountain station. A gondola or a similar people moving device is moved along the supporting cables while being connected to a self-conclusion type tow cable. The gondola is separated from the tow cable and moves in the station along a guide rail. The self-conclusion type tow cable is formed of two loops, and in either case, two strands which move in the same direction and are connected with the gondola are formed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
