PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve seating comfort by appropriately bending a seat shell with neither lowering the rigidity of the seat shell nor using an expensive seat shell having multiple slits. SOLUTION: A flexible recess strip 26, which has an approximately frontward U shape in the plan view by downward bending upper surfaces of both left/right side parts and the rear part of the seat shell 11 so as to have a recessed cross section, is provided outside the seating face in the central part of the seat shell 11 having its circumferential part supported at the upper part of a leg frame of a chair and formed of a synthetic resin.
