A full jacket helical conveyor centrifuge (1) with a rotationally mounted drum (2) and a drive device for the drum (2), characterized in that the drive device for the drum (2) comprises at least one electromechanical direct drive (25a - f). The secondary elements (26) on the outer periphery of the drum (2) or on the outer periphery of a part which is rotationally fixed to the drum, more particularly a shoulder (6, 17, 18, 19, 20) and the primary elements (27) are arranged radially outside the secondary elements (26) at a distance therefrom with no contact therebetween. The propulsion force is produced by an electromagnetic field of travelling waves. |
