PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a patent map creating system capable of easily determining a relation and similarity between a plurality of inventions on a patent map by referring to drawings. SOLUTION: The patent map creating system 2 uses a macro function of spreadsheet software 3 to define a data sheet 4 storing the bibliographical information and evaluation information of a patent document, an XY list sheet 5 storing evaluation axis information, and various types of map sheets 6. An additional information acquiring part 10 additionally acquires additional document information such as claims, problem to be solved, and abstract, and drawing information such as a representative drawing from an unexamined patent information search system 32, a company patent management system, a CD-ROM 34 for the publication of patent applications, or the like. The additional document information is stored in the data sheet 4, and the drawing information is stored in a drawing information storing part 7. A patent map display part 11 uses the data sheet 4 stored with the additional information, and the drawing information stored in the drawing information storing part 7 to create a patent map with a drawing, and display it in a display device 24.
