The present invention relates to a medical device, in particular to a medical device for use in the treatment of urinary disorders. The device (8) is provided for inserting super-absorbent material (9) into a urostomy (1) or urinary incontinence leg bag through the discharge tap (7) thereof. The device comprises a sealed elongate cavity having a length to width ratio of at least about (6). The cavity is at least partially filled with a superabsorbent material and the contents of the sealed cavity are accessible by means of rupturing the device, whereupon the ruptured region of the device may be inserted into the discharge tap of the urostomy or urinary incontinence leg bag, in order that the contents of the cavity may then be transferred to the bag.
