While the shutter of a two-dimensional macro-cell control image sensor is turned on and the reset is turned off, X and Y address control signals synchronized with a motion of an object to be imaged are received by X and Y address control signal reading means. Then, X and Y address control means causes, based on the X and Y address control signals, a CMOS pixel circuit in one of a plurality of macro-cell units arranged in X and Y directions to be turned on. Then, the current value of the CMOS pixel circuit that has been turned on is read as a pixel output.
