<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a titanium alloy which is an alloy for a living body containing no Ni element, has improved biocompatibility and has superelasticity as well. <P>SOLUTION: The superelastic titanium alloy for the living body comprises 5-40 at% Nb for stabilizing a beta-phase in titanium and the balance Ti with unavoidable impurities. The superelastic titanium alloy for the living body comprises 5-40 at% Nb, one or more elements selected from among 10 at% or less Mo, 15 at% or less Al, 10 at% or less Ge, 10 at% or less Ga and 15 at% or less In, and the balance Ti with unavoidable impurities. The total content of the one or more elements selected from among Mo, Al, Ge, Ga and In is 30 at% or less, and the total content of the Nb and one or more elements selected from among Mo, Al, Ge, Ga and In is 60 at% or less. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
