PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector capable of reducing an investment accompanying a design change of a female connector or renewal thereof, restrained from backlash between a male connector and the female connector in a fitting direction and in a direction perpendicular to the fitting direction, capable of avoiding friction or the like between the connectors. SOLUTION: A backlash restriction wedge ring 42 having a slope 43 at a rear end and a waterproof spring packing 31 touching a tip part of the wedge ring 42 are mounted on an inner housing 15 of a male connector housing 13. A slanted face touching the slope 43a of the wedge ring 42 is formed on an outer peripheral wall at the backside of the inner housing 15. When fitting connector housings 13, 48 to each other, the female connector housing 48 and the inner housing 15 are made to closely contact to each other through the wedge ring 42 by making the backside wall of the female connector housing 48 touch a front end of the spring packing 31.
