PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a vector that introduces DNA or RNA into a cell by preparing a surfactant-free latex solution by polymerizing an olefin compound in the presence of chitosan in water. SOLUTION: The latex solution comprises a polymer obtained by polymerizing an olefin compound with chitosan in water. A complex is obtained by reacting the polymer with various DNA or RNA. Such a nonviral vector can be stably used since it, unlike a hazardous viral vector, is a safe artificial product. Selectivity for a cell membrane is important for a vector to have an enhanced transformation efficiency. It is necessary that a vector has hydrophobic and hydrophilic domains in order to enhance the transformation efficiency.
