PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an indicating instrument for cars capable of reducing light emitted from the tip face of a pointer which lights by itself with light led to the inside of the pointer, without increasing the number of manufacturing processes. SOLUTION: The indicating instrument 10 for cars is provided with a dial 12 which has an opening 12b and in which indicating sections 13 made of translucent material are formed, and the pointer 14 which is fitted to the rotating shaft 19 of a drive unit 18 at its base part 14a, has a pointer body 14b, is made of translucent material, and indicates the indicating sections 13, and the instrument 10 leads light to the indicating sections 13 and the pointer 14 to light them. To reduce the light emitted from the tip face of the pointer 14, the opposed face portion 20a being the tip part of the rear face 20 of the pointer 14 is formed as a parabolic shape, when viewed at a cross section along the longitudinal direction of the pointer 14.
