PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel injection control unit of a diesel engine without cost increase by additional equipments, which can carry out injection-quantity learning with high precision. SOLUTION: In the diesel engine, a single injection is performed during a no-injection period in which a command injection quantity to an injector is zero or under, and a torque proportional quantity Tp is calculated by multiplying a variation amount of the engine rotation speed (a rotation speed incrementδx), which is increased by the single injection, by the engine rotation speedω0 at the time when the single injection is performed. Thus, since the injection quantity is proportional to the generation torque, the actual injection quantity can be estimated from the generation torque calculated from the torque proportional quantity Tp. As a result, a difference between the estimated actual injection quantity and the command injection quantity is detected as a deviation in the injection quantity, so that the injection-quantity learning can be performed highly precisely without requiring additional equipments such as a torque sensor and so on.
