PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tree-protecting lid facilitating the removal of dirt entered and accumulated under the lower surface thereof. SOLUTION: The tree-protecting lid comprises a protecting plate 1 having a hole 2 through which the root part of a tree is passed, and many through holes for passing air and water to the surroundings of the root part of the tree. The protecting plate is divided to two or more plate fragments 11-16. Pairs of the neighboring plate fragments in the two or more plate fragments are mutually connected to hinges so that a part of the arbitrary one plate fragment at the opposite side of the other connected fragment can freely be lifted upward. The dirt 19 entered from the hole 2 and the through holes to the lower side thereof can be removed by lifting only one plate fragment 14 under which the dirt is present at a required angle. When the dirt is present over the whole surface under them, the dirt can be removed by opening the plate fragments 11-16 one by one.
