A method for heating by means of a gaseous medium comprising steam, said ste am being produced from water, energy for heating the water being provided by burning a fuel, wherein the steam is mixed with exhaust gas from combustion of said gaseous medium; and wherein said mixture is used for heating purposes. The invention also relates to a device and a system for heating by means of a gaseous medium comprising steam. The invention further relates to a method a nd system for purifying gases. The invention also relates to a method, system a nd device for extinguishing fires in oil bore holes.
