<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize a multi-functional printer (product is made small in height) and to shorten first printout time. <P>SOLUTION: A paper supply tray is arranged nearly horizontally at the lowermost part of the image forming apparatus, and a main carrying path consisting of a paper supply carrying part, a transfer part and a fixing part is arranged nearly vertically along the back surface of the apparatus. A paper ejection guide is constituted of a plane having a plurality of ribs along in a carrying direction, and arranged to be inclined to a printing surface side with respect to a main carrying surface, and further a fixing nip is arranged to be inclined to the printing surface side with respect to the main carrying path.
