PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an instrument used as for calibration of a machine, or an instrument used as the machine itself. SOLUTION: This instrument is provided with two structures, each thereof has three support parts arranged triangular-shapedly with a space thereon. The each support part may be formed into a ball or a socket. The structures are connected each other by six members, and end parts of the two members are connected to the each support part. When used as a calibration device, the members serve as an expansion-driven measuring bar, the structures are connected respectively to a fixed part and a movable part of the machine, and a displacement in a portion of the machine causes a relative displacement between the structures to change a length of the measuring bar.
