PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition which has a decreased air permeability, gives a vulcanized rubber prevented from bleeding on its surface, and is suitable especially for an inner liner for a tire. SOLUTION: The rubber composition contains 100 pts.wt. butyl rubber, 1-40 pts.wt. maleic-anhydride-modified liquid polybutene, and, if necessary, a layered clay mineral having been subjected to an organization treatment by the ion bonding of an organic compound having an ammonium group.
