PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital camera in which photographable images are increased. SOLUTION: In the digital camera, an end voltage value which is a voltage value disabling a mechanical shutter shielding a CCD from light and other functions to be used and in which the system of the digital camera becomes out of order, a pre-end voltage value which is a voltage value higher than the end voltage value and the lowest voltage value where the mechanical shutter is usable and other functions can be driven, are set. The voltage of the battery of the digital camera is detected; when the voltage value is larger than the end voltage value and smaller than the pre-end voltage value, the mechanical shutter is not driven and an electronic shutter is controlled to capture an image. At this time, when a photograph is taken at a shutter speed faster than a specified shutter speed, a message indicating that a smear is caused is displayed on an LCD panel.
