PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide toner having excellent low-temperature fixability and wide fixing temperature width and a binder resin used for the same. SOLUTION: A polyester which contains a first polyester and a second polyester, and is 5:95 to 95:5 in the mass ratio of the first polyester and the second polyester, and in which the first polyester is a linear polyester of 25,000 to 100,000 in weight average molecular weight and 150 to 220°C in softening temperature and the second polyester is a linear polyester of 2,000 to 10,000 in weight average molecular weight is used. The polyester-based toner having the excellent low-temperature fixability and hot offset resistance, and the wide fixing temperature width can be obtained by making combination use of≥2 kinds of the linear polyesters having the specific weight average molecular weight and/or softening temperature.
