PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide garbage treatment apparatus capable of continuously and quickly treating large and hard garbage discharged in a domestic kitchen and suppressing malodor emission to the outside. SOLUTION: The garbage treatment apparatus A so composed as to crush garbage in the inside and fermenting and decomposing the garbage comprises a throwing-in tank 1 to which garbage is thrown, crushing blades 3 installed in the throwing-in tank 1 in a rotatable manner relatively to the throwing-in tank, a dropping port 1D formed in the bottom part 1C of the throwing-in tank for downward dropping garbage crushed to a prescribed size or smaller, a fermentation tank 9 installed under the dropping port and containing microorganism for fermenting and decomposing the crushed garbage, and stirring blades 15 installed in the fermentation tank 9 in a rotatable manner relatively to the fermentation tank.
