发明名称 MAGNETIC RECORDING DISK DRIVE HAVING LAMINATED MEDIUM IN WHICH SIGNAL TO NOISE RATIO IS IMPROVED
摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic recording disk drive which is thermally stable and is provided with a high signal to noise ratio (an SNR) medium having a high overwrite (OW) characteristic. SOLUTION: A disk drive 10 is provided with a guide writing head and a heater 20 to record data on a laminated medium 11 on a recording disk 14. Respective ferromagnetic layers 13 and 17 of the laminated medium 11 can be formed by the material which has intrinsic coercive force so as to conduct writing by a conventional writing head. However, due to the lamination that is desirable to increase the SNR, intrinsic coercive force of the bottom section ferromagnetic layer 13 becomes greater than the magnetic field from the writing head and therefore, writing can not be conducted. In order to conduct writing onto the laminated medium 11, the bottom section ferromagnetic layer 13 is heated so that the intrinsic coercive force is made lower than the magnetic field being exposed.
