PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a horizontal bar screen device which can effectively prevent locking from being caused by pinching of foreign matter. SOLUTION: This horizontal bar screen device is equipped with a screen part 12 wherein a plurality of bars 14 are arranged at regular intervals, sprockets 16 which are arranged on upstream and downstream sides, respectively, chains 20 which are wound between the upper sprockets 16 and between the lower sprockets 16, respectively, a rake attachment 21 which is attached across the upper and lower chains 20, and a plurality of rake bodies 22 which are mounted on the rake attachment 21. In this device, the respective rake bodies 22 are moved in such a manner as to meander with respect to the inward and outward directions of the screen part 12, when moved toward the downstream side from the upstream side between the respective bars 14 by the rotary drive of the respective sprockets 16.
