PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for separating and removing oil from water to be used for a final waste water treatment that can be made compact in configuration and simple in maintenance, and low in cost and less in entrained oil. SOLUTION: The apparatus is provided with a device for forming coarse oil particles 4 composed of a collecting step for dispersed oil/emulsified oil in oil and water, an aggregating step for minute oil drops and a step for flotation separation of oil drops making use of gravity difference, a parallel plate device 5 composed of a plurality of parallel plates arranged apart from each other forming slits and inclined at an angle of 45 degrees to the horizontal or vertical direction in a vessel 8 and an oil adsorption filter using an oil adsorption material 6a obtained by providing porous network fibers with lipophilic and hydrophilic properties. The device for forming coarse oil particles 4 located before the parallel plate device 5 and the oil adsorption filter is formed of a filter made of a microfiber membrane that enables to collect/aggregate/coarsen oil particles.
