Process and assembly to apply a dust pigment coating to one or both sides of a pre-wetted paper or carton web

In a process to apply a pigmented coating to a moving wet web, the paper or carton web (4) feeds through the nip point (S) between two rotating drums (2). The top drum is pre-wetted by a medium (M), which transfers the agent to the web. After passing the nip point the wetted web is exposed to dry dust pigment particles (9) within an enclosed chamber (7). Pigment particles not trapped by the wet web surface are abstracted from the capsule to a filter trap for re-use or disposal. Also claimed is a commensurate assembly.
