PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new use of thrombin derivative peptide for treating damaged cardiac tissue, revascularization or inhibiting vascular occlusion or restenosis.

SOLUTION: There are provided a method for promoting cardiac tissue repair comprising administering to the cardiac tissue a therapeutically effective amount of an angiogenic thrombin derivative peptide and/or inhibiting or reducing vascular occlusion or restenosis; methods of stimulating revascularization; and in yet another embodiment, the use of thrombin derivative peptides in the manufacture of a medicament for the methods described in the specification.
