PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a guide map in the optimum reduced scale to a mobile terminal of a user. SOLUTION: A map providing server 1 acquires name information on a plurality of marks from a point information storage means 11, by a mark selection menu providing means 13, on the basis of the request from a mobile phone 2, prepares a mark selection menu from the acquired name information on the plurality of marks, and provides the prepared mark selection menu for the mobile phone 2. Positional information on the mark selected by the mark selection menu provided for the mobile phone 2 is acquired from the point information storage means 11, by a reduced scale map providing means 14, the positional relationship between the mark and the destination is calculated from the acquired positional information on the mark and the positional information on the destination stored in the point information storage means 11, the map information having the reduced scale corresponding to the calculated positional relationship is acquired from a map information storage means 12, and the acquired map information is provided for the mobile phone 2.
