PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inspect ejection at a clear ink ejecting part easily. SOLUTION: The printer comprises a plurality of color ink ejecting nozzles, and a plurality of clear ink ejecting nozzles and forms a pattern for inspecting ejection of each clear ink nozzle on a medium using the clear ink ejected from each clear ink nozzle and the color ink ejected from the color ink nozzle toward the adhering region of clear ink wherein each inspection pattern is assigned with two or more color ink nozzles ejecting color ink toward the adhering region of clear ink.
