PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multifunctional peripheral system capable of shortening a data transmission time in transmitting data from an external device which is connected to a multifunctional peripheral, to an opposite side device which is connected via a line. SOLUTION: When transmitting mail data created by a slave unit to the opposite side device connected via the line, the mail data are first transmitted to a master unit and received by the master unit (S6). When the addition of a signature as one of identification information of the transmission source slave unit is designated in the received mail data, the signature of the transmission source slave unit stored in the master unit beforehand is added by the master unit (S9). A mail address that is the identification information of the transmission source slave unit, and a transmission date of the mail data are also added by the master unit (S10), and the mail data are then transmitted to the opposite side device connected via the line (S12).
