PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide artificial photosynthesis equipment capable of industrially producing C<SB>6</SB>H<SB>12</SB>O<SB>6</SB>from CO<SB>2</SB>and H<SB>2</SB>. SOLUTION: The method for producing sugar from gases comprises: a step of obtaining CO<SB>2</SB>from atmospheric air with a CO<SB>2</SB>enriched membrane; a step of producing ethanol from CO<SB>2</SB>and H<SB>2</SB>as shown in formula (a); a step of anchoring a group of purple non-sulfur bacteria as a bioreactor that carries out a reaction represented in formula (b); a step of feeding the ethanol C<SB>2</SB>H<SB>5</SB>OH; and a step of separating the produced sugar C<SB>6</SB>H<SB>12</SB>O<SB>6</SB>from aldehyde and water so as to purify the sugar. The equipment can industrially produce the sugar in large quantities in comparison with the input amounts of H<SB>2</SB>and CO<SB>2</SB>because CO<SB>2</SB>and H<SB>2</SB>are used as raw materials while the bioreactor is used.
