<p>Filter elements comprise metal cuttings, braid or wires. With glow plugs between them, they are compressed together to form filter units. The glow plugs are used to burn-off soot particle accumulations in the filter elements, through energy supply. Filter elements and glow plugs are built into various exhaust pipes or housings, and are burned-off in alternation. A triple tube or casing with three passages forms the filter casing; each is regenerated in alternation. Heat-conducting top sections or wires are added to the glow plug tips to improve heat distribution between filter elements. The filters replace exhaust pipe silencers.</p> |
