The drill is for production particularly of dowel holes in hard materials and has a drill head (4) with a cylindrical outer profile with a conical convergent point (5) and a drill dust channel (6) commencing on the drill head and extending to the shaft (2). The drill head is provided with diamonds. The drill dust channel can preferably be V-shaped and have a depth adequate for conducting the amount of drill dust away, without an excessive cross-section weakening of the drill head and/or the shaft. The channel can also have an increasing depth from the point of the drill head to the shaft. The shaft at its end opposite to the drill head has a fitting part (7) which is dimensioned so that it is suitable for fitting in the chuck of a drilling machine.
