PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-resistant, heat-resistant stainproof coating member and to provide a method for producing the coating member. SOLUTION: In the water-resistant, heat-resistant stainproof coating member, water resistance, heat resistance, stainproof property and high strength are imparted to an organic substrate composed of an organic material. The coating member is obtained by coating the surface of the organic substrate with a silicate solution and applying a silica coating film thereon. The method for producing the water-resistant, heat-resistant stainproof coating member comprises applying the silicate solution to the organic substrate, drying the solution and applying a solution containing an organosilicon compound or silica sol thereon.
