PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a UV light-curable coating composition containing a pigment for coating to be cured the surface of a can or a bottle made of a metal, a plastic or a plastic film-coated metal which contains beverage or a food product and to form a coated article, especially a cationic polymerizable UV light-curable coating composition superior in curability and adhesiveness under a high relative humidity condition even when the pigment contained in the coating is dense. SOLUTION: This UV light-curable coating composition comprises at least one photocationic polymerization initiator (A) selected from the group consisting of an iodonium salt, a sulfonium salt, a sulfoxonium salt and a phosphonium salt, a photosensitizer (B) expressed with a specific chemical formula, an epoxy compound (C) which is solid at a room temperature and expressed with a specific chemical formula, a cationic polymerizable substance (D) having a cycloaliphatic epoxy group and a pigment (E). Furthermore, in the coating composition, the weight ratio of the initiator (A) to the photosensitizer (B) is 3.0-20.0 and when (A)+(B)+(C)+(D)+(E)=100 wt%, the percentage content of the initiator (A) is 1.5-4.0 wt% and the percentage content of the epoxy compound (C) is 1-10 wt%.
