<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for stably securing the impact resistance of a ball bearing even when using any kind of super finishing device. <P>SOLUTION: The ball bearing comprises an outer ring having an outer ring raceway groove in the inner peripheral face, an inner ring having an inner ring raceway groove in the outer peripheral face, and a plurality of balls rollingly arranged between the outer ring raceway groove and the inner ring raceway groove. An axial length Li from the groove center of the inner ring raceway groove to a groove shoulder chamfer portion and an axial length Le from the groove center of the outer ring raceway groove to a groove shoulder chamfer portion are each greater than a length obtained by the following expression: Li=Rmini×sinαmax+AiLe=Rmine×sinαmax+Ae, where αmax is the maximum contact angle, Rmin is the minimum groove radius, A is the major radius of a contact ellipse, subscript i is the inner ring, and subscript e is the outer ring. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
