<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aluminum-free lid and a container into which hot water can be easily poured to cook contents, in the aluminum-free lid 20 covered on a cup-shaped or tray-shaped container containing instant noodle, fried noodle or the like to be cooked by pouring hot water and having its circumference 23 heat-welded, and in which the following problems are solved; the lid is apt to close the container 30 at the time of pouring hot water with the aluminum-free lid 20 peeled to the vicinity of the center and the hot water is soon cooled with the lid of the container 30 opened when the container covered with the lid 20 is left unattended again. <P>SOLUTION: In the aluminum-free lid and container, a portion to start the unsealing of a peripheral edge part 23 of the aluminum-free lid 20 is extended to form a hooking projecting piece 21 of an arrow mark shape or the like.
