摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device capable of specifying simply the position where an external force is applied, concerning a device for detecting the external force such as a strain distribution by using an optical fiber. SOLUTION: This external force detection device having a transmission optical fiber 11 and a reception optical fiber 12 is equipped with a sensor part 2 formed so that a light wave propagated in the transmission optical fiber 11 can be propagated into the reception optical fiber 12. In the external force detection device, when the external force is applied to the transmission optical fiber 11 of the sensor part 2, the light wave propagated in the transmission optical fiber 11 is propagated into the reception optical fiber 12.
