PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact piston type air compressor with high performance. SOLUTION: This piston type air compressor is formed in such a structure that conventional cylinder outer pipe equipment is eliminated by providing an intake valve to a first piston member and and a first compression is performed in a cylinder and two pistons are reciprocatingly moved in one cylinder for two-stage compression. Also, a cooling effect is increased by utilizing the portion C of the volume of the cylinder not utilized for compression. Thus, multi-cylinder compressor can keep the balance of the overall compressor, can develop high performance, and can be rotated at high speed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
