PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for treating coke powder, by which fine-grained coke powder having a high value occurring in coke dry quenching equipment is separated and recovered while avoiding danger such as dust explosion, etc., and a treatment apparatus therefor. SOLUTION: In the coke dry quenching equipment with which red-hot coke in a cooling tower 1 is cooled by blowing a cooling gas into the cooling tower, a high-temperature exhaust gas having obtained sensible heat of the red-hot coke discharged from the cooling tower 1 is introduced through a primary dust catcher 2 for recovering coke powder in the exhaust gas to a boiler 3, heat is recovered by the boiler 3, the exhaust gas is reblown through a circulation duct 13 to the cooling tower 1 to cool the red-hot coke, the coke powder recovered by the primary dust catcher 2 is classified into coarse granules and fine granules by a fluidized bed cooling classifier 6.
