PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for modifying a reverse osmosis membrane lowered in its filtering precision so as to be reutilizable the same. SOLUTION: In the method for modifying reverse osmosis membrane, a modifying water 22 is sent to a reverse osmosis membrane module 8 from a modifying water tank 28 when the salt inhibition rate of the reverse osmosis membrane module 8 is judged to be less than a reference value to destruct a part or the whole of the skin layer of the reverse osmosis membrane by modifying water 22 to lower the filtering precision of the reverse osmosis membrane module 8 to a predetermined level. Thereafter, the reverse osmosis membrane module 8 is detached to be reutilized as a separation membrane conforming to the obtained filtering precision. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
