PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dishwasher in which a washing chamber is easily enlarged while taking the waterproof measure of a spring. SOLUTION: In the dishwasher 1, since the spring 33 used for raising and lowering a door 7 is housed inside the column 6 of a washer body 2 and the spring 33 is confined inside the column 6, appearance is made excellent while taking the waterproof measure of the spring 33. Also, since a space between left and right columns 6 can be utilized as the washing chamber 3, the enlargement of the washing chamber 3 is achieved and the miniaturization of the dishwasher is also achieved while maintaining the volume of the washing chamber 3.
