PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital camera capable of positively acquiring and storing the still image information of a moving object, and reducing the used capacity of a memory to efficiently use the memory. SOLUTION: The digital camera 1 is provided with an image pickup means for acquiring the image information of the object, an operating means 24 for operating the image pickup means, an image pickup control means (CPU 11a) for controlling the image pickup means to acquire image information in operating the operating means 24 and frames before/after the information, and a RAM 11c for storing the acquired image information of the object. The camera 1 is provided with a speed detecting means (CPU 11a) for detecting the moving speed of the object, a storing number setting means (CPU 11a) for automatically setting the number N of stored frames before/after the information according to the moving speed of the object, and a storing control means (CPU 11a) for allowing the RAM 11c to store the frames before/after the information by the set number N of storing.
