<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microscope capable of drastically avoiding the staining of an additional optical system in the midst of performing operation, especially, operation in an eye, drastically avoiding the hindrance of the work of an operating surgeon by the additional optical system and further making (a plurality of) beam paths formed in the microscope as simple as possible. <P>SOLUTION: The microscope, especially, stereomicroscope or the like has a main objective, an enlarging system arranged behind the main objective, and the additional optical system for performing the operation in the eye, and is constituted so that the additional optical system has at least one ophthalmoscope lens arranged before the main objective and at least one optical element arranged behind the main objective, which perform the refraction and the focusing of an observing beam path passing through the main objective.
