PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator arrangement allowing simple construction, and simple maintenance and inspection, capable of preventing smoke from flowing through between an hoistway and an elevator hall at a fire. SOLUTION: The elevator device is provided with partition members 8, 44, 52 partitioning an entrance 4, a sill 11 installed on an end part of the elevator hall 3 on a side of the hoistway 2, entrance doors 7A, 7B for opening and closing the entrance 4 sideways, a first smoke shielding body 17 supported by the partition members and brought into sliding pressure contact with an upper edge part of the entrance door when the entrance door is closed, second smoke shielding bodies 18A, 18B supported by a side edge part of the entrance door and the partition members and brought into press contact with each other after the entrance door is closed, and a third smoke shielding bodies 19A, 19B supported on a lower edge part of the entrance door and brought into sliding pressure contact with the sill.
