PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a food packaging material, which has a superior gas permeability and moisture permeability and is composed of a material having an excellent separation strength in a wet state, so that the packaging material is suitable for use in packaging a food subjected to heat treatment or smoking process. SOLUTION: The food packaging material 1 comprises a gas permeable fiber material 2 and a moisture permeable resin layer 3 formed on one surface of the fiber material 2. A part of the moisture permeable resin layer 3 is impregnated into the gas permeable fiber material 2, and the separation strength between the fiber material 2 and the resin layer 3 in a wet state is 2 N/15 mm or higher.
