PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To read data in a disc outside a standard such as a CCCD. SOLUTION: When an out-of-standard disk such as a CCCD (copy control CD) 10 is loaded, the system controller 32 of an optical disk device reads the TOC data of first and second session. When the TOC data of the second session contradicts the TOC data of the first session, the system controller determines not an in-standard disk but an out-of standard disk, reduces the number of retrying times or a retrying time of data reading, and generates synchronization SYNC by an internal counter to read data.
