DISPLAY DEVICE AND ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT

摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device which has display surfaces on the front and the rear, has a read function by building an imaging element therein, and realizes a higher function and higher additive value by using a panel of small volume, and provide electronic equipment.

SOLUTION: The display device has a plurality of pixels arranged in a matrix form and the first display surface on one surface of a substrate having translucency and has the second display surface on the surface opposite to the one surface. Each of the plurality of the pixels has a transistor and the imaging element as well as light emitting elements which emit light on the first display surface side and the second display surface. The light emitting elements play two roles; a role as a light source at the time of reading the information of a subject and a role of displaying an image. The display device includes two functions; an image sensor function to read the information of the subject using the imaging element and a display function to display the image by using the imaging element and the light emitting elements.
